Our Story
Howard Gilman, owner of Falling Creek Log & Lumber Co., got his start in the forestry industry doing summer work for his father, Buddy Gilman, owner of Gilman Logging. After graduating college in 1989, he and his father opened a concentration yard in Ashland, VA.
As the business grew, construction began on the first sawmill in 1993 and by 1997 a second sawmill was built. The railroad spur, built in 1994, allowed easier rail transportation to and from the mill.
Today, Falling Creek Log & Lumber Company produces a variety of wood products for commercial and non-commercial use.

Our Associations
Falling Creek Log & Lumber Company is a member of several logging and forestry organizations. Howard Gilman also serves on the Board of Directors for the Virginia Forest Products Association.
